Could Agents Of SHIELD Be Bringing Back Another Villain?

There’s just one more week left until Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD returns for the final arc of its third season. Thanks to the inherent setup of “The Framework,” this is one of the few times when literally anything is possible for the show.

The final episode before the break revealed that Grant Ward had returned to the show to reprise his role as Grant Word in the virtual world of the Framework. Since then, there’s been rampant rumors and speculation about other actors from the series’ history returning for another run.

One of those actors is BJ Britt, who played Agent Trip. Trip died in Agents of SHIELD Season 2 when the team discovered the lost Inhuman temple and Trip came into contact with Terrigen. Britt has been sharing photos of himself hanging out with current Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD stars, leading some to believe he’s been working with his old co-stars again. Nick Blood, who played Lance Hunter before leaving the show in Season 3, has also been spotted in some of these photos.

A more recent photo from Britt’s Instagram account reveals another possible returning character, but this time it's from the show’s roster of villains. The photo shows Britt hanging out with Simon Kassianides at a 1990s-themed birthday party. Kassianides played Samil Bakshi, a Hydra agent, in an earlier season before being killed by Agent Jemma Simmons.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD returns to ABC on April 4 with a new episode titled “What if...” Here’s the official episode synopsis:

Hail the New World Order! Daisy and Simmons uncover secrets and lies in a world gone mad. With Hydra in control, they are our only hope to save everyone.
